La figure féminine de l’infirmière évoque une mère aimée, protectrice, séductrice. Celle qui panse les plaies de la chair et de l âme… Sa présence domine les scènes d’un crash dont la violence fait écho à un parricide. L’évocation n’est pas anodine dans la vie de l’artiste dont le père est pilote automobile. Les compositions mettent en relief un sujet dont le propos fait appel à des références artistiques pour tisser le lien essentiel qui reste l’érotisme. Citons CRASH de Cronenberg film dans lequel un homme est à la recherche d’une énergie sexuelle qui atteint son apogée aux moments d’accidents de voitures. Citons également Richard Prince et sa collection de « Nurse » érotique. Le rapport étrange qui lie le danger de la course automobile et le fantasme de l’uniforme, nous entraîne dans un no man’s land glacé avec des oeuvres subtilement cadrées et audacieusement millimétrées. L’exposition présente une vingtaine de toiles sur lesquelles on reconnaît aisément les codes artistiques propre à Crespel. L’univers graphique, la richesse chromatique, les codes de la culture pop et l’imagerie des réclames de courses automobiles nous transportent dans une arène sponsorisée à la manière de Warhol ou Wesselmann. L’oeuvre « CAR CRASH » prend tout son sens, l’artiste y affronte ses obsessions et ses craintes. Ce mélange de chairs et d’aciers, destructeur, déroutant mais aussi intensément érotique, invite le spectateur à découvrir la narration de cette nouvelle série de toiles.

« Car crash » explores the tribute and the chaos, symbolic extension of Oedipus complex.
The feminine figure of the nurse evokes a loved, protective and seductive mother… who bandages wounds of the flesh and of the soul.
Her presence dominates the scenes of a crash, the violence of which echos a parricide.
The evocation is not harmless for the artist, a racing driver of which the father is.

The compositions accentuate a subject of which appeals to artistic references to weave the essential link which remains the eroticism.
Let us quote as saying CRASH, the Cronenberg movie in which a man is in search of a sexual energy which reaches its peak at the moments of car crash, and also Richard Prince and his collection of erotic nurses.
The strange relationship which connects the danger of the motor racing and the fantasy of the uniform pulls us in a frozen no-man’s-land with works subtly centred and bravely graduated.

The exhibition presents about twenty paintings of Cédrix Crespel on which we recognize easily his own artistic codes.
The graphic setting, the color enrichment, the pop culture codes, the advertising images of motor racing transport us in a sponsored arena like Warhol or Wesselmann.

Car Crash takes all its sense, the artist faces his obsessions and his fears there.
